Mr. Gene Leidy, formerly of Oconomowoc and Jackson, passed away early Saturday morning, August 17, 2019, at Copperleaf Village in Ripon. He was 72 years old. Gene was born in Milwaukee on July 17, 1947, son of Charles and Marie Jones Leidy. He attended local schools and graduated from Nicolet High School before proudly serving in the US Air Force. Mr. Leidy worked most of his life in the bowling industry, most recently at Classic Lanes in Oconomowoc. He enjoyed woodworking and made many beautiful things until his eyesight started to fail. Afterwards he enjoyed vegetable gardening, especially growing tomatoes and cucumbers for pickles. Gene will be fondly remembered for his funny wisecracks and jokes, and carefree lifestyle. Gene was the father of John D. Leidy of Wauwatosa and Richard C. Leidy of Milwaukee, brother of Patricia (Floyd) LaRocha of Grafton, loving companion of Lois Rummel of Jackson, and fond Grandpa to many. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. Gene is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Marie. A private memorial is being planned by the family.
