Gary Lemanczyk, of Thiensville, passed away after a brief illness in the morning hours of Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon. He was 64 years old.
Gary was born on May 11, 1955 in Milwaukee, son of Ervin Lemanczyk and Joan Drewek Lemanczyk. He grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Nicolet High School with the class of 1974. On May 31, 1991, he married his wife Karen in Las Vegas. Gary worked in the automotive industry for many years, most recently as the parts manager at Sommers Automotive in Mequon. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge and enjoyed cars, wood working, traveling and especially spending time with his family.
Gary is survived by his wife Karen of Thiensville, six children: Joe Lemanczyk of Grafton, Andy (Fiance Rachel Fellenz) Lemanczyk of Hartford, Matt Van Lieshout of Fox Point, Michelle (Dan) Cruz of South Milwaukee, Bryan Van Lieshout of Fox Point and Amie Van Lieshout of Germantown. He is further survived by seven grandchildren: Logan, Cora, Marissa, Kalina, Alyssa, Maddie and Lauren, three siblings: Thomas Lemanczyk of West Allis, James (Christine) Lemanczyk of Cedarburg and Susan (Gary) Backes of Glendale, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Ervin and Joan Lemanczyk and his sister Judy Lemanczyk.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 15th at 5:00 PM at St. Monica Catholic Church, 5635 N. Santa Monica Blvd., Whitefish Bay. He will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Milwaukee. Visitation will take place at the CHURCH on Friday the 15th from 4-5 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
