Obituary

Mr. Gary Leicht of Kingman AZ and West Bend passed away unexpectedly on Monday July 13 2015 at Froedtert Hospital. He was 63 years old. Gary was born December 20 1951 in Germantown the son of Homer and Jeanette (nee Schultz) Leicht. He attended school in Germantown and graduated from St. John's Military Academy in Delafield in 1970. He went on to study education at the University of Wisconsin - Stout. On May 29 1971 he was united in marriage with Judy Kannenberg at David Star Lutheran Church. Gary was a journeyman carpenter who was always making something from furniture to building homes. While living in the Cedarburg and Jackson areas he worked for D and H Developers Jacobi Builders Cedarburg Lumber and Custom View Windows. In 1990 he started his own business Creative Design Remodeling. He ran that until moving to Arizona in 2003. Gary enjoyed his retirement in Arizona where he took many day trips to the mountains with Judy in their jeep. Gary was a former member of David's Star Lutheran Church in Jackson and a present member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Kingman AZ. He enjoyed woodworking four-wheeling and playing golf. He traveled every year mostly to Alabama to visit his daughter's family and then to Wisconsin to camp for the summer. In 2014 Gary Judy and friends attended a taping of the Price is Right in CA a highlight in Gary's retirement years. Above all Gary loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Gary is survived by his wife Judy and their two children: Anne (Steven) McCarty of Saraland Alabama and Jeremy (fianc Rachelle Gipp) of Kewaskum. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Brandon (Patricia) Samantha Christina and Melissa Kertscher William McCarty and Jacob Leicht great-grandson Braydon Kertscher brother Homer (Jan) Leicht of Menomonee Falls sister Sharron Klein of Appleton father-in-law Jerome Kannenberg of Alpache Junction AZ brother-in-law David (Jan) Kannenberg of Tuscon AZ nieces nephews other relatives and many many friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday July 15th at David Star Lutheran Church 2740 David's Star Dr. in Jackson. The family will receive visitors at the church on Wednesday from 11AM - 12 noon. The Eernisse Funeral Home Cedarburg is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
