Clark
September 16, 1935 – January 29, 2025
Gary W. Clark passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. He was 89 years old.
Gary was born on September 16,1935, in Fayette, Ohio to the late John and Marie (Acker) Clark. Gary attended college at William & Mary and proudly served in the United States Army.
On December 21, 1957, Gary was united in marriage to Betty Anne Bean in Fort Wayne, Indiana. They spent over 67 years together.
Gary was known for his outgoing spirit and ability to connect with everyone he met. He was kind, generous, positive and lit up a room with his smile. Those who met him were always greeted with, "Hi, I'm Gary Clark!" He had a deep love for the game of golf, finding joy in being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends creating new and lasting memories.
Gary enjoyed a long career in sales. He offered guidance and support with Big Brothers, Big Sisters, for many years. A long-time member of the Chamber of Commerce in Chicago, Gary was an advocate for local businesses and took pride in contributing to the growth of his community. He was also a proud member of the Masons in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he fostered brotherhood and service.
Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife Betty, his son Christian (Sara) Clark, his grandsons Elijah and Griffin Clark, his nieces Sarah Blauman and Sue Borton, along with other family and many friends.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Gary's family would like to thank the staff at Village Pointe Commons and Lily Hospice, for the care and compassion they showed not only to Gary but to the family.
