GALE V. RODEN Mrs. Gale Roden of Stanford St. in Port Washington recently of Virginia Highlands Rehabilitation Center in Germantown passed away on Saturday August 20 2005 at the age of 78. Gale was born in West Allis on June 15 1927 daughter of Edward and Mildred (Markofski) Gaskey. She was united in marriage with Eugene Archie Roden on June 26 1948 at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Milwaukee and the couple settled in Port Washington. He preceded her in death in 1999. While raising three daughters Gale became involved in Girl Scouting first as a troop leader for 30+ years and additionally as the Day Camp Site Coordinator at Hawthorne Hills for 20 + years also serving four years on the Board of Directors of the Manitou Girl Scout Council. She was an avid outdoorswoman who enjoyed fishing ice fishing and hunting going by the nickname of Mother Duck. While her husband was alive Gale was a member of the Ozaukee County Deputy Sheriff's Women's Auxiliary and enjoyed target shooting on their range. Mrs. Roden also volunteered at Heritage Nursing Home as an activities director. She is survived by three daughters: Paula (Edward) Muente of Saukville Lynette (Michael) Miller-Wilkens of Fredonia and Nancy (Christopher) Wellenstein-Lyneis also of Saukville. She is further survived by 8 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren and one brother Garth Bub (the late Jean) Gaskey of Brookfield nieces nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband and one brother Tearle Lynn Mickey Gaskey. Funeral services will be held at 8PM on Friday August 26th at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington. Father Jim Ernster will officiate. Gale will be laid to rest next to her husband in St. Mary's Cemetery the following day.
