Gail M. Becker, of Chippewa Falls, passed away on April 18, 2026, at Our House Senior Living in Chippewa Falls. She was 73 years old.

She was born on September 29, 1952, to the late Henry and Audrey (Young) Betzhold in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Gail graduated in 1970 from Washington High School in Milwaukee.

Gail met her husband; Wayne, on a blind date arranged by his cousin and they married on Oct 11, 1982. They lived in Germany for four years when Wayne was in the US Navy stationed in Stuttgart. She worked in various jobs with her last job being in the bakery at Sendik’s in Grafton, Wisconsin.

Gail and Wayne raised, bred, and showed Somali and Maine Coon cats for a number of years traveling to many cat shows. She loved crocheting and passed that love down to her daughter and a few grandkids. She crocheted many items over the years for the grandkids which they still cherish. She loved to read, Nora Roberts and J.D. Robb being among her favorites that filled her bookcases. She was also a huge fan of the Hallmark Channel and crime TV shows.

She is survived by her children Matthew (Dawn) Disher, Megan (Travis) Melville, and 6 grandchildren. She is further survived by lifelong friends Sami and Tom Mitchell, and her beloved cat Sweetpea.

Gail is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, and her parents.

The family would like to thank the incredible and caring staff at Our House Senior Living for their compassion, care and sometimes tough love in taking care of Gail. We also appreciate the care and support of St. Croix Hospice for assisting Gail and her family in the last month of her life.

A graveside service will be held at Immanuel Cemetery in Cedarburg on Saturday, May 30, at 1PM.
