FREDERICK E. BUECHLER Mr. Fred Buechler of Cedar Grove formerly of Belgium passed away Thursday afternoon January 23 2014 following a traffic accident in the Town of Farmington. He was 70 years old. Fred was born in Port Washington on January 5 1944 son of Edwin and Germaine Gangelbauer Buechler. He grew up on the family farm in the Town of Belgium and attended St. Mary Catholic School before attending Port Washington High School. He graduated with the Class of 1962 and then went on to serve in the US Army stationed in Korea. On July 15 1967 Fred was united in marriage with Cheryl DuCharme at St. Mary Catholic Church Lake Church. The couple settled on a farm in the Town of Belgium and started their family. Mr. Buechler was active in many community organizations. In the Knellsville 4H he had been a Swine leader part of the Dairy Promotions Committee and the auctioneer for the Ozaukee and Washington County Fairs. As a member of the Belgium Lions he received the Merlin Jones Award. Fred was also a board member of Kettle Lakes Co-op and a member of Belgium American Legion Post 412. In 2002 Fred started his livestock trucking and auctioneer business. Mr. Buechler was a member of Divine Savior Parish and enjoyed hunting and the occasional casino trip in his spare time. Fred is survived by his wife Cheri their three children: Brenda (Donald) Mueller of Belgium Brian (Irene) Buechler of Cedar Grove and Bret (Jodi) Buechler of Oostburg eight grandchildren: Dustin Nathan Matthew Hunter Alex Faith Max and Paige and three great-grandchildren: Jordyn Avry and Cash. He is also survived by his mother Geri Buechler of Belgium sisters Kathleen (the late Patrick) Kernan of Port Washington Carol (the late Edward) Eckert of Sheboygan and brother Edwin (Judy) Buechler Jr. of Belgium. Further survivors include sister-in-law Barbara DuCharme of Port Washington brother-in-law Roger (Susanne) DuCharme of Peshtigo nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7PM on Tuesday January 28th at Divine Savior Holy Cross Chapel 5332 Hwy B Belgium Father Todd Budde will preside. Fred will be laid to rest with Military Honors at St. Mary Parish Cemetery Lake Church the following day. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Tuesday from 3-7PM with Lions and American Legion walk-throughs before the service.
