Fred R. Bossler a lifelong Port Washington resident passed away Wednesday April 29 2009 at Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum where he had resided the last 2 months. He was 92 years old. Frederick Bossler was born in Port Washington on February 5 1917 the third son of Port Washington natives Joseph and Katherine (nee Solms) Bossler. Fred attended St. Maryrsquo;s grade school and Port Washington High School. His first job was working with his father and brothers as commercial fishermen for a few years. His main and longest employment was as a supervisor in the Parts Department at Simplicity Co. in Port Washington for over 25 years. Fred met his beloved wife of fifty-four years Catherine Johnson at Modernistic Ball Room in Milwaukee. Dancing was an enjoyment for the couple throughout their years together. They were married on May 1 1943 at a Catholic church in Milwaukee. It was an idealistic marriage of sharing all that life had in store for them. One of the couplersquo;s passions was sports. Golf was the main sport and a hole in one was achieved by Fred. For many years they also enjoyed playing bridge in couplersquo;s groups. Travel was on their itinerary often throughout the years and their trips took them to all of the states and Europe. Through numerous journals and pictures Cathie documented the cruises and tours they enjoyed together. When traveling became too arduous they began wintering in Florida. They met and had many friends that they shared good times with both in Port Washington and on their travels.
