FRED E. GALL Fred Fritz Gall age 83 years of 229 Roger St. Port Washington died Tuesday evening June 10 2003 at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg where he had been a resident for the past several weeks. He was born June 3 1920 in Port Washington son of the late Erwin and Clara Stieg Gall. He was a 1938 graduate of Port Washington High School and married Marlene Steinke on October 3 1962 at Friedens Evangelical Church in Port Washington. She preceded him in death October 24 2000. Mr. Gall was retired after over 30 years at Bolens working in research and development. He was a member of Friedens Evangelical Church in Port Washington where he was a past president of the congregation was a 55 year member of the church choir and served as choir director for over 50 years. Mr. Gall was a trombone player with the Port Washington City Band joining in 1935. He formerly played with the Gene Merrill Orchestra and the Harry Rothman Orchestra from 1940 until 1968. He was a member of the Lakeshore Symphonic Band the Dockside Ramblers directed the Port Washington Senior Center Chorus for the past 20 years served on the Port Washington Police and Fire Commission for 25 years and was a former member of the Knights of Pythias. Mr. Gall is survived by 1 son Craig of Appleton and is the brother of Carl (Elizabeth) Gall of Darmstadt Germany Dorothy Yurske and Betty (Julius) Bendt both of Port Washington and Gerald (Melvina) Gall of Oostburg. He is further survived by 2 brothers-in-law Charles Spear and Henry Steinke Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents his wife Marlene 1 daughter and 1 sister. Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 14 1:30 pm at Friedens Evangelical Church 454 N. Milwaukee St. Port Washington with Pastor Mark Voll officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery Port Washington. Visitation at the CHURCH Saturday from 11:30 until time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Port Washington-Saukville Scholarship Fund for a future music scholarship at Port Washington High School in memory of Fred and Marlene Gall appreciated.
