Frank P. Fellenz Frank P. Fellenz (baptized Francis Xavier Fellenz) age 88 of Saukville passed away on Tuesday August 14 2012 at Dekora Springs in Saukville under the care of the wonderful staff and Heartland Hospice. He was born in Sheboygan WI on July 24 1924 to William H and Viola M (Laubach) Fellenz. He grew up on the small farm at 700 S. Main St Saukville WI. He attended grade school at Immaculate Conception and graduated from Port Washington High School in 1942. At the age of 21 Frank headed west and settled in Billings Montana. He found work at St. Vincent's Hospital which was associated with the Church of the Little Flower where he later married Mary Jane Vanden Bosch of Chicago IL on May 6 1947. Mary Jane was the roommate of Frank's sister Mary Therese (Grand Rapids) while both young women attended St. Agnes School of Nursing in Fond du Lac. Frank and Mary Jane moved back to Saukville where they eventually built a little house on Main St and started their family. Frank was a member of St Mary's parish and served as a young altar boy there. He later became a member of the Holy Name Society helped organize a youth group of the Catholic Order of the Foresters served on several church committees provided maintenance and grounds help and worked during Fall Festivals with other church friends. As a young lad Frank and his brother James assisted by preparing graves for burial and by mowing the lawns. As an adult he joined the Knights of Columbus Council 2035 of Port Washington and helped with various fund drives. One of the older sons volunteered his Dad's time when help was requested by the nuns at Our Lady of Lourdes school in Chicago by proudly exclaiming My Dad can build anything! This spirit of contribution to church community friends and family continued throughout his entire life. As each of his children moved on to their own homes Frank often received phones calls asking for advice or help with one project or another. He was innovative precise hard-working skilled and self-reliant. As Frank's father William respected tools and sometimes resorted to making his own Frank had a keen sense of stewardship of his and his father's tools. Some of these may be found at Pioneer Village in Fredonia even today. Others are still in use by his children. His love of the changing seasons history genealogy homesteading and land stewardship often found him taking jaunts around the surrounding counties on his motorcycle during fall festival time. He was an avid reader and collector of maps of the area and the world. When he could no longer drive a motorcycle or car he could be seen bicycling or walking to church and around the community. Frank's initial work in life began in Saukville where he helped Mr. Klug build houses. He worked several years at Modern Equipment and ended his career as a mechanical draftsman for Jadair Corp. of Port Washington.
