Obituary

FRANK A. BRAUN Mr. Frank Braun of Port Washington passed away early Sunday morning February 26 2012 at Milan Estates in Saukville where he had been residing since September of 2010. He was 84 years old. Frank was born in Milwaukee on April 5 1927 son of Frank and Marie Joecks Braun. When he was 17 years old Frank entered the US Navy and served during WWII. Following service Mr. Braun attended college. He graduated from UW Milwaukee with his bachelor's degree in Art and a minor in History. Later Frank would receive his Masters degree in art from UW Milwaukee as well. On August 11 1951 Frank was united in marriage with Elizabeth Bscherer in Milwaukee. The couple moved to Lowell Indiana and then to Clintonville WI before moving to Port Washington in 1958. Mr. Braun taught Art at Port Washington High School for 32 years retiring in 1990. Frank was a charter member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Port Washington as well as a member of various local art centers and was a former member of the Clintonville Lions Club. He was an artist as well as a teacher and enjoyed working in many medias however his favorite was oil painting. Many of his painting can be found at locations around Port Washington. Frank is survived by his wife Elizabeth of Port Washington their daughter Leslie Braun also of Port Washington two grandsons: Christopher Appel of Grafton and Charles Kempke of West Bend and two great-granddaughters: Andrea Burnett and Lux Elizabeth Appel. He is further survived by brother Edward (Gert) Braun of Sussex sister Mildred Wahl of Berlin nieces nephews other relatives former students and friends. Frank is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Dorothy Czisewski and Lois Walters. Funeral Services will be held at 7PM on Thursday March 1st at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington (1600 W. Grand Ave.). Rev. Robert Suhr will officiate. Mr. Braun will be laid to rest the following day at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7PM.
