Frances M. Scherff Frances Scherff, of Port Washington, passed away at Lasata Care Center on Saturday, December 19, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was 93 years old. Frances was born on June 16, 1922, daughter of William Robb and Mary Stachawiak Robb. On September 27, 1941 she married Howard Scherff in Milwaukee. The couple operated Robb's Restaurant in Milwaukee for many years. After selling the restaurant, Frances worked as an executive secretary for the Assistant Superintendent of Milwaukee Public Schools, retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church in Port Washington where she served as a Sacristan, and a former member of Women's Club, the Homemaker's Club, and the Port Washington Senior Center. She enjoyed playing Bridge, fishing, going to the movies, dancing and spending time with her family. She is survived by her four children: Kathleen (Joseph) Mueller of Swansboro, NC, Dennis (June) Scherff of Hartford, Mary (William) Schroeder of Boulder Junction, and Linda Grasse of Fredonia. She is further survived by 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Ethel (Dean) Vosburg of Neosho, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Howard, 1 grandson Michael and her sister Zita Kurcz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 29th at 5 PM at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church, 1800 N. Wisconsin St., Port Washington. Father Pat Wendt will preside over Mass. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee. A visitation will take place at the CHURCH on Tuesday, December 29th from 3-5 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington is honored to serve the family.
