Mr. Florentino Esquivel, of Cedarburg, passed away at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon Thursday evening, August 30, 2018. He was 76 years old. Florentino was born in Nueva Rosita Coahuila, Mexico on December 5, 1941, son of Felix and Catalina Rodriguez-Esquivel. The family moved to southwest Texas while he was young, and he lived in that region until he was united in marriage with Amelia Mendoza on August 14, 1971 in Clyman, WI. The couple settled in Cedarburg and raised their family.
Tino was employed as a foundry worker at Amcast in Cedarburg until he retired in 2005 and was a member of St Francis Borgia Parish. Tino was passionate about listening to all kinds of music, but especially enjoyed country music, 50's and 60's rock and roll and Tejano music. He was proud of his 1966 Ford truck and was an avid Packers fan. He enjoyed fishing, walking with his wife and cooking – creating special meals for his grandchildren, with funny names like "Spaghetti Tacos".
Tino is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Amelia of Cedarburg, WI; his daughter Sandi Esquivel-Mauer (Wesley Mauer) of Milwaukee; his sons Abel Esquivel of West Milwaukee, Adrian Esquivel of Milwaukee and David Esquivel of Cedarburg; his nine grandchildren: Alejandro, Catalina, Doraelia, Kaliyah, Adrian Jr., Soraya, Abel Jr, Talia and Aiyanna, great-grandson Miklo Florentino; his only sister's children: Shelly Casey of Rio Rancho, NM, Kelly Gomez of Castroville, TX, Jimmy Davis of Carrizo Springs, TX and Karen Davis-Garber of Sabinal, TX. He is further survived by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Catalina, his infant brothers and his sisters Hilda Davis and Doraelia Esquivel.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church North, 1375 Covered Bridge Road, Cedarburg. Father Patrick Burns will preside. The family will receive visitors at the church on Wednesday from 2pm until services at 4pm.
