FLORENCE R. ZIRBES nbsp; Mrs. Flo Zirbes of Holden Street in Port Washington passed away on Sunday September 13 2009 at Heritage Care Center in Port Washington after a brief stay.nbsp; She was 86 years old.nbsp; Florence was born in Mount Vernon IL on March 26 1923 daughter of James and Nora (Small) Rose.nbsp; She was united in marriage with Eldred ldquo;Melrdquo; Zirbes at St. Maryrsquo;s Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon IL.nbsp; Afterwards the couple moved to Port Washington and raised their family. Mel preceded her in death in 1998. Mrs. Zirbes had been well known in town as a cashier at Merrillrsquo;s Grocery in Port Washington working there for over twenty years before her retirement.nbsp; She was a member of St. Maryrsquo;s Catholic Church in Port Washington and had been involved with the Christian Womenrsquo;s group.nbsp; An avid reader Flo was also a member of the Port Washington Senior Center and enjoyed golfing bowling playing cards and an occasional trip to the casino. She is survived by her three children: Ruth (Larry) Loomis of Polo IL Richard (Debbie) Zirbes of Chandler AZ and Patti Eischen of Wichita KS.nbsp; She is further survived by seven grandchildren: Nicole (T.A.) Johns of Chandler AZ Matthew Zirbes of Long Beach CA Joseph (Tammy) Eischen Brian Tanner Christopher and Kailyn Eischen all of Wichita KS nbsp;2 great-granddaughters Chloe amp; Ella Johns of Chandler AZ other relatives and friends.nbsp; She is preceded in death by her husband Eldred and her 3 brothers: Richard Andrew and Edward Rose.nbsp; Mass nbsp;will be held on Wednesday September 16 leaving from the Eernisse Funeral Home (1600 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington) at 6PM going to St. Maryrsquo;s Catholic Church 430 N.
