Evelyn N. Lanser Mrs. Evelyn Lanser formerly of Cedar Grove passed away Saturday evening November 6 2004 at Heritage Nursing Home in Port Washington. She was 88 years old. Evelyn was born in the Town of Hingham on May 24 1916 daughter of Ruben and Jennie Simmilink DeSmith. On June 27 1936 she was united in marriage with Sylan Lanser at St. Peter Clavor Catholic Church in Sheboygan. The couple lived in Port Washington and moved to Cedar Grove in 1938. Evelyn worked at the Cedarburg Shoe Factory until she and her husband took ownership of the Sportsman Bar Grill in Cedar Grove. They ran the establishment for 28 years selling in 1971. Mrs. Lanser was a member at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lake Church the Christian Womens Guild and the Tavern League. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards especially sheepshead and was a member of a card club for 28 years. She also liked to travel with her friends enjoyed going to plays and did fancy needlework. Evelyn is survived by her 2 daughters: Mary Jane Janie (LaMont) Lukens of Cedar Grove and Nancy (Steve) Behringer of Aurora CO. 7 grandchildren: Brian (Debby) Lukens Bruce (Barb) Lukens Brent (Deb) Lukens Barbara Lukens Teri (the late Bradley Lukens) (Frank) Schmitz Lisa (Kenny) Blair and Cristal Behringer 15 great-grandchildren: Bambi (Fred) Brianne (Jack) Bobbi Jo Betsy Shawn (Julie) Carrie Samantha Becky Brian Katie Brandon Anna (Mike) Angie Sara (Chris) and Melissa and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by 3 brothers: Edwin (Dorothy) De Smith of Hobert IN Rodney (Erica) De Smith of North Hills CA Arthur (Maria) De Smith of Tempe AZ 1 sister Elsie (the late Alfonse) Uselding of Port Washington nieces nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Syl and 1 grandson Bradley Lukens. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday Nov. 10 2004 10 AM from the Funeral Home going to St. Mary Lake Church for Mass at 10:30 AM. Fr. James Ernster will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the parish cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home 171 N. Royal Ave. (Hwy LL Park St.) in Belgium Tuesday from 4-8PM and Wednesday from 9-10 AM.
