Evangeline ("Vange") C. Gosewehr of the Town of Saukville was born to Eternal Life on the morning of Friday, July 19, 2019 after a brief illness. She was 96 years old. Vange was born in Belgium, WI on September 19, 1922, daughter of Peter and Martha (nee Lorge) Anzia. She was united in marriage with LaVern ("Lou") Gosewehr on May 17, 1947 in Lake Church. The couple operated a dairy farm in the Town of Saukville. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Vange loved gardening and was well known for her flower and vegetable gardens. She was a long-time member of the Auxiliary Legion Post 470 in Saukville. Vange worked at Pioneer Village and enjoyed teaching children about local history and early settlers. She helped her husband when he was the Clerk for the Town of Saukville and could be counted on to provide assistance on election day. She enjoyed playing sheepshead with friends, was a great cook and baker, and enjoyed hosting her large family for holiday celebrations. Vange could be seen outside her garden or on a riding mower frequently, up until just a few years ago. Vange is survived by her children Bob (Linda) of Mequon, Gerry (Sue) of Warrenville, IL, Al (Ginny) and Sue (Bill) Folz of Saukville, eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law Lois Anzia and Karen Gosewehr. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband LaVern (1915-2011), her brothers Alvin, Harvey and Marvin; sisters Virginia and Patricia; and brothers- and sisters-in-law. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at St. John XXIII Catholic Parish - Immaculate Conception Church (120 W. Church Lane. Saukville, WI 53080) with Fathers Karl Acker and James Ernster concelebrating. Visitation will be at the CHURCH from 4:00-5:45PM. Evangeline will be laid to rest Friday next to her husband at St. Finbar's Cemetery in the Town of Saukville. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the charity of your choice.
