Eugenia "Jean" Hintz (Nee Ash) was born on July 14,1942 in Dahlonega, Georgia, and passed away peacefully on July 13, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Jean relocated from Georgia to Milwaukee with her family when she was a teen, and then attended Pius XI High School in Milwaukee. Jean made countless friends while working for more than three decades as a Manager for Hertz Rent-a-Car at both the downtown Milwaukee train station and also at the Mitchell Field Airport location. Jean was also an accomplished fine art oil painter and gardener and a compassionate lifelong animal lover. She loved to read mysteries and spy novels, and to ski in the winter, and she was a loyal Packers fan. Jean was also quite a raconteur, who loved to tell stories. Jean was also politically active throughout her life, and was also put in countless hours of work with a wide range of community charities and volunteer organizations. She is survived by her loving husband, Lee Hintz, her daughter, Sherra Hintz, her son, Daniel Hintz, her son-in-law Luis Ferragut, her daughter-in-law Hatice Besun, her sister Margaret Puls, her brothers James and Patrick Wanta, her three grandchildren, Chloe, Christian, and Stefan Ferragut, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Lumen Christi Catholic Church 2750 West Mequon Road Mequon, WI 53092. Father Daniel J. Sanders will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of mass at 11:00 AM. The Eernisse Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
