Gene Szydel of Grafton passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 27, 2018, at Lawlis Family Hospice Center in Mequon. He was 83 years old. Gene was the owner of the Mug & Brush Barber Shop in Milwaukee, and proudly kept his customers looking sharp for over 60 years. He is survived by his loving wife Joan and their sons Kevin Szydel of Grafton and Keith Szydel of Port Washington and grandchildren Kyle, Jenna and Keegan Szydel, all of Port Washington. He is further survived by brothers Gary (Maryann) Szydel of Kewaunee and Darrel (Julie) Szydel of Two Rivers, nieces, nephews, godchildren, other family, friends and former clients. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Saturday, April 7th at St. Joseph Catholic Congregation, 1619 W. Washington St., Grafton. Father Mike Barrett will preside. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Saturday from 9AM until time of services at 11AM .
