GENE N. WIESNER Mr. Gene Wiesner of Hollybrook Lane in Saukville passed away at home during the early morning hours of Saturday January 14 2012. In his 67 years he was a loving husband and proud father. Gene was born in Sturgeon Bay on March 26 1944 son of Nick and Joyce (Shaw) Wiesner. Following his graduation from Algoma High School in 1962 Gene received his degree in Traffic Management from Spencerian College in Milwaukee. On June 18 1966 he was united in marriage with Joann Schmiling at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Algoma. Mr. Wiesner served in the US Army from 1966-1968. Gene and Joann soon settled in Milwaukee and in 1976 moved to Saukville with their two children. Gene worked as Traffic Manager for Milprint and Miller Brewing before starting Transportation Logistics Services in 1993. In 2008 he sold the business retired and focused on his many interests. Gene was an avid sportsman and hunter. He enjoyed traveling and hunted throughout Wisconsin the US Canada Mexico and Africa. Some of the many hunting organizations he belonged to include the Saukville Gun Club Whitetails Unlimited and Safari Club International. He taught many local youth and adults in Saukville's Hunter Safety courses. Gene and his wife were longtime season ticket holders of the Milwaukee Reparatory Theater and supporters of the Milwaukee Art Museum and Saukville Public Library. Close to home Gene was a Meals-on-Wheels volunteer an enthusiastic Sheepshead player and served on the Saukville Village Zoning Board. Mr. Wiesner is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Joann and their two children Kara (Thomas Martin) Wiesner of Cedarburg and Andrew (Amy) Wiesner of New York City. He is further survived by his sisters Emy (Russ) Seaman of Hartland and Sandy (Lee) Schmiling of Algoma brother-in-law Lyle (Bev) Schmiling also of Algoma nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Nick and Joyce Wiesner. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6 PM on Wednesday January 18th at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Cedarburg (1167 Washington Ave.). The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home from 3-6 PM. Memorials are suggested in Gene's name to either Saukville Hunter Education Program or Saukville Library Program.
