Eugene Geno Burmesch age 92 years of Cascade formerly of Belgium died Sunday evening December 2 2012 at his residence. He was born July 20 1920 in Belgium son of Michael and Catherine Langers Burmesch. Gene worked for many years as a machine operator for A.O. Smith Co. in Milwaukee. He enjoyed gardening and raising a variety of small animals. He also operated Geno's Tap in Fredonia from 1970 - 1980. On August 17 1946 he married Esther Peters at St. Nicholas Church in Dacada. She preceded him in death in 1992.On March 28 1998 he married Bernice Kultgen-Gasser at Holy Trinity Church in Newburg. She preceded him in death in 2009. Survivors include his four daughters Jean (Richard) Denton of Fulton MS Diane Kay (Ronald) Biever of Mayville Janet (Jesse) Malone of Cascade and Marie Bath of Jackson 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson three sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be held on Monday evening December 10 7 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home 171 N. Royal Ave. Belgium. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Random Lake. Visitation at the funeral home Monday from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Jude's Children's Hospital appreciated.
