Esther H Alexander 93 of West Bend passed away on May 28 2008 at Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on April 29 1915 in Greenfield Massachusetts the daughter of Clarence A Wicks and Edith Bristol Wicks. She was a graduate of Northfield School in Greenfield Massachusetts andRussell Sage College in Troy New York. On September 4 1936 she was united in marriage with Egbert Eugene ldquo;Generdquo; Alexander Jr. They raised their family of 5 daughters in Branford and Stony Creek Connecticut. Esther was a physical education teacher. Following their retirements the couple moved to Naples Florida where Esther lived for 22 years. Gene preceded Esther in death in 1986 and in 1998 she moved to Cedar Ridge in West Bend to be near her daughter Lee. Esther was a very intelligent and strongwoman whoexcelled at Bridge Cribbage and Scrabble and loved watchingbaseball games. When in Florida she loved to attend spring training games in Ft. Myers. She had a beautiful alto voice and shared her love for music in numerous choirs and choruses. Her daughters all learned to knit sew cook and garden under her guidance.She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum. She is survived by four daughters: Lee Van Camp (Ray) ofFountain Hills Arizona formerly of Port WashingtonJan Lyford (Joe) of Pueblo West CO Ruth A. Thurlow (Cornel) of Burlington ME and Marcy Alexander of Bremen GA. She is further survived by 15 grandchildren and22 great-grandchildren. Esther was preceded in death by her husband daughter Nancy Kustraher parents three brothers: Philip Carl and Arthur four sons-in-law:Edward Kustra Cornel Thurlow Ted Makrisand Ray Van Camp andgranddaughter Rebecca Van Camp. Esther will be cremated. Memorial services will be private and arranged by the family.
