Miller, Emiline C. "Emmy" Passed in peace at her home at the Waterford in Hartford, Wisconsin. Loving mother of two sons, Doug (who passed in 2015) of Port Washington, Wisconsin and Jim of Vail, Colorado, and two daughters in law, Deb (Doug) and Michele (Jim). Emmy will be remembered for her deep devotion, unconditional love, and unwavering commitment to her high school sweetheart and husband of 60 years, Jerry (who passed in 2020). She was the daughter of the late Pauline and Loyd Curless of Madison, Wisconsin. Emmy was a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She received her Masters Degree from Oral Roberts University and was certified as a reading specialist. She did educational research at the University of Wisconsin for six years and spent the rest of her career in the classroom as a beloved teacher. She was an advocate for children and adults who had special needs in learning to read. The beauty of music and singing was an integral part of Emmy's life. In Madison she was a soloist with the First United Methodist Church and a performer in the Madison Civic Opera. After moving to Port Washington, Wisconsin, Emmy and Jerry sang in the choir and were members at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church. A friendly word of warning to all angels currently singing in heaven, especially the soloists – scoot over, you are about to get a run for your money! Emmy loved her family, she loved her students, she loved her friends, she loved to sing, she loved to shop, she loved chocolate, and she loved the Lord. She was special, and made an indelible impression on everyone she met. Proud grandmother of Chelsea, Hilary, Jake, and Jenna. Great grandmother to Emmett and Clark. Emmy is further survived by her sister and brother in law Georgia and Francis Williamson of Springfield, Virginia, and sister in law Joan Hunting of Phoenix, Arizona, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. There will be a dual memorial service for both Emmy and Jerry at 10AM on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022 at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington. Rev. David Guse will preside.
