Ellen Ruth Dybdahl lost her third and final fight of her struggle with cancer on September 29 2009 at 1:00 p.m at Columbia/St. Mary's Ozaukee.nbsp; She was surrounded by family and a few remarkable friends in the hours leading up to her death.nbsp;nbsp;Ellen was born on March 12 1948 to Gerald Leslie Momsen and Eileen Marie Nygren Momsen. nbsp; Ellen graduated from UW-Stout in 1970. She spent four years teaching in a one-room schoolhouse in Eagle Wisconsin. She then began a 20-year career working in insurance billing at a local optometristrsquo;s office which eventually became part of Aurora Advanced Healthcare. nbsp; Ellen was married to Mark Dybdahl on August 15 1970. They had two childrennbsp;Chadnbsp;and Leslie and settled into a newly built house in 1992 where her love of gardeningnbsp;flourished.nbsp;For years Ellen collected seeds and with the help of her husband and mother planted hundreds of flowers in the yard culminating in a spot in the Port Washington Garden Walk in 2008. nbsp; Ellen loved to travel and was also firmly rooted in her community where she volunteered regularly at her church. She valued hard work family and the lasting network of friends with whom she loved to socialize over Sheepshead and good food. nbsp; Ellen is survived by husband Mark Dybdahl son Chad Dybdahl daughter Leslie (Tim) Veedahl granddaughter Veda Dybdahl brothers Robert (Jeanne) Momsen Bruce (Linda) Foster Momsen and Ken (Elaine) Momsen many nieces nephews and friends. nbsp; A visitation will be held on Saturday October 3 2009 at 1:00 p.m.nbsp;at Christ thenbsp;Kingnbsp;Lutherannbsp;Churchnbsp;innbsp;Port Washingtonnbsp;Wisconsin to be followed at 3:00 p.m. by a memorial service.
