Ellen E. Larsonnbsp; Mrs. Ellen Larson of Sun Prairie formerly of Dodgeville and Port Washington passed away Saturday August 21 2010 at Sterling House Assisted Living Center in Sun Prairie. She was 94 years old. Ellen was born July 16 1916 in Highwood IL the daughter of Knute Leo and Oline Svera Carlson. After graduation Ellen worked as a telephone operator for Illinois Bell in Chicago. On April 17 1947 she was united in marriage with Chester Larson in Highwood IL. Chester preceded her in death in February of 2010 after 62 years of marriage. After getting married the couple settled in Dodgeville where they raised four children together. Ellen was a homemaker on the family farm and enjoyed gardening and canning. Mrs. Larson was a member of Dodgeville Methodist Church where she was involved with numerous committees and groups. In 1973 the couple traveled to Norway where Chesterrsquo;s parents emigrated from.nbsp; Ellen and Chester moved to Port Washington in 2006. She enjoyed square dancing golfing knitting and refinishing furniture. nbsp;Mrs. Larson is survived by three children: Larry (Gloria) Larson of Port Washington Terry (Ruth) Larson of Seffner FL and Judy (Peter) Krebs of Waterloo. She is further survived by her daughter-in-law Charlene Larson of Beach Park IL 10 grandchildren 6 great-grandchildren 1 sister Ruth Lindstrom of Wheeling IL 1 sister-in-law Jean Cray of San Antonio FL nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her son Jim and 3 sisters: Leola Stupey Evelyn DeVroeg and Marion Rogan. A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Saturday August 28 at Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington Pastor David Guse will officiate. Ellen will be laid to rest beside her husband at Eastside Cemetery in Dodgeville. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10-11AM. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Grand Ave. United Methodist Church in Port Washington.
