Obituary

Betty Waldeck passed away at Ellen's Home in Port Washington on Wednesday afternoon, October 20, 2021. She was 88 years old. Elizabeth was born in Port Washington on November 14, 1932, daughter of Clarence and Adela Arndt Decker. She attended local schools. On September 29, 1951, Elizabeth was united in marriage with Henry Waldeck, Jr. in Bentonville, Arkansas. The couple was blessed with four children. Henry preceded her in death in 2006. When Betty wasn't raising her children, she worked at Bemis in Sheboygan Falls. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Belgium. She loved baking and taking care of her family. She was a passionate cleaner and was nick-named "Sparkle". Betty also enjoyed taking care of her flowers and her garden, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those left to cherish her memory include her children Julie (Henry) Egerer of Belgium, Sandra (Dennis) Egerer of Malone, Stanley (Nancy) Waldeck of Random Lake, and Lori (friend Ron Hausner) Schmitz of West Bend, 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by brothers and sisters: Edward (Lori) Decker of Sheboygan, Violet (the late Darwin) Ulrich of Mequon, David (Mary) Decker of Belgium, Karen (John) Van Ess of Waldo and Richard (Cathy) Decker of Cedar Grove, sister-in-law Diane Decker, special friend Richard Nason of West Bend, numerous nieces and nephews, other family and friends. She is preceded in death by grandson Kevin Egerer, son-in-law Dennis Schmitz, brothers George, Milton, and Clarence (the late Nadine) Decker, and infant sister Adela. A Memorial Service will be held at 3PM on Saturday, October 30th at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 200 Park St., Belgium. Pastor Wayne King will preside. The family will greet visitors at the CHURCH on Saturday from 12-3PM. Betty will be laid to rest in Union Cemetery, Port Washington, the following day. If desired, memorials are suggested to St. Mark Lutheran Church. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Ellen's Home and the hospice staff for all of the wonderful care they have given Betty over the years.
