Mrs. Elizabeth Roberts of Port Washington passed away Tuesday morning, April 14, 2020, at Harbor Cove while surrounded by her loving family. She was 93 years old.
Elizabeth was born in Columbus, OH on August 31, 1926, daughter of Frank and Fern (née Pritchard) Gilbert. She grew up in Marysville, OH and attended local schools, graduating from Marysville High School before going on to nursing school. After graduating from nurses training in 1945 Mrs. Roberts worked as a nurse in Springfield, OH.
On May 17, 1950 Elizabeth was united in marriage with Thomas R. Roberts in Indianapolis, IN. The couple started their family in Springfield. They moved to Columbus, OH in 1956 and then Middletown, OH in 1963 where they continued raising their family. In 1969 Mrs. Roberts became the Director of Nurses at Garden Manor in Middletown, OH. She assumed the same position at Kettering Convalescence Center in Kettering, OH in 1974. They moved from Kettering, OH to Port Washington in 1980. Mrs. Roberts enjoyed continuing her hospital work as a Pink Lady volunteer and chapter president at St Alphonsus Hospital.
Mrs. Roberts was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Port Washington. She enjoyed the church fellowship, Bible study, and volunteer work through the Ladies Guild.
Survivors include her children Roger (Brig Gen Kathy, USAF) Roberts of Lacey, WA; Richard Roberts of Cincinnati, OH; and Renee (Jim) Musselwhite of The Villages, FL. She is further survived by three grandchildren: Ramsey, Rachel, and James. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas who passed away in 1998.
Private family graveside services will be held at Union Cemetery in Port Washington.
