IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elizabeth G.
Feith
August 8, 1925 – February 11, 2026
Elizabeth G. Feith (nee Nass) passed away peacefully on Feb. 11, 2026. She was born on Aug. 8, 1925 in Xanten, Germany, the youngest in her family of 4 brothers and 1 sister. After living through the horrific years of WWII in Germany, she met the handsome Hungarian, John Feith in Heidelberg, and they were married in 1947. Before long, John A. Feith and, a year later, Andre’ W. Feith were born. In 1952, when the boys were 4 and 3 years old, the family immigrated to the US, docking in NY, making their way to Chicago, then ultimately settling in Saukville, WI. Elizabeth learned the new language, made friends quickly through neighborhood “Kaffee Klatsches” and raised their family… which increased by one when Susan Frieda was born in 1956.
Family meant everything to her, but Elizabeth was also a very caring and generous friend to so many people over the years. She loved entertaining, bowling, golf, baking “Kuchen”, and traveling to many places in the world. Their favorite destination was their apartment in South Tyrol, northern Italy, where Elizabeth’s sister, Mary lived. She was also a true animal lover, having had dogs and cats throughout her entire life, most recently their beloved cats Poopsie, and then Schnookie. Her love of animals inspired her to create the Elizabeth Feith Adoption Center at the Ozaukee Campus of the WI Humane Society when it was built in 2011.
Elizabeth is survived by sons John (Maria) Feith, Andre’ (Helen) Feith, and daughter Susan (Tom) Shannon, grandchildren John Andre’ (Kelly) Feith, Cristina Feith, Paul (Amaia) Feith, Natasha Feith, Richard Feith, Andy (Tara) Shannon, Peter Shannon, and Jochen Nass, great-grandchildren Jonas and Paloma Feith, Cecilia Feith, Ian and Xabi Feith, Jack Shannon, and William Shannon, as well as nieces and nephews in both the US and Germany.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Feith and her family members in Germany.
A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held on July 29th at the Abloom Farm Resort, formerly known as “Tranquility,” where John and Elizabeth lived from 1983 – 2016. Details will follow as we get closer to the date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to WI Humane Society, Ozaukee Campus (wihumane.org) or Parkside Community United Church of Christ, Saukville (ParksideUCC.com). We are so grateful for the care given by the Cedar Community in West Bend, especially the staff at The Cottages and Commonheart Hospice Care.
