Elenore L. Schaefer, age 97 passed away at St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri on Tuesday, July 11, 2017. She was born on December 15, 1919 in Saukville, Wisconsin to Edgar and Alma (nee Seyfert) Opitz. Elenore was a resident of Port Washington for 95 years. She was united in marriage to her husband Walter "Iggy" Schaefer on August 4, 1945 at Friedens Church in Port Washington, Wisconsin. In her free time, she enjoyed participating as an Eastern Star, crocheting, volunteering and staying active with the senior center. Elenore is survived by her son Paul (Mary) Schaefer of Leawood, Kansas and grandchildren Kimberly (Zach Miller) Schaefer of Leawood Kansas and Michael (Lei Pei) Schaefer of Kansas City, Missouri. A Funeral Service for Elenore will take place on Sunday. July 16, 2017 at Friedens Church (454 North Milwaukee Street Port Washington, Wisconsin 53074) at 4:00 PM. Pastor Brandon Lemons will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from 2:00 PM until the time of the service at 4:00 PM. Elenore will be laid to rest the following day next to her husband at Union Cemetery in Port Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Friedens Church or St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.
