Mrs. Eleanore Wilde, age 95 years, of Hwy 33 in the Town of Port Washington, passed away at Lawlis Family Hospice Center in Mequon on Tuesday evening, November 10, 2020. She was born on September 18, 1925 in the Town of Port Washington, daughter of William and Alma Hahn Witte. On September 6, 1947, Eleanore was united in marriage with Edward Wilde at Frieden's Evangelical Church in Port Washington. The couple moved into the house that Ed built and raised their family. Ed preceded her in death in 2003. Mrs. Wilde worked as an assembler winding motors at Doerr Electric in Cedarburg for over 20 years, retiring in 1988. She was a longtime member of Frieden's Evangelical Church in Port Washington. Eleanore loved music, especially polka and waltz, often listening to Lawrence Welk and Dutch violinist Andre' Rieu. She enjoyed cooking family dinners - her German Potato Salad will be missed by many. Above all, Eleanore enjoyed taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren She is survived by her four children: Dennis (Marcella) Wilde of Saukville, Gary (Jacquelyn) Wilde of West Bend, Jean (Steve) Anderson of Merrill and Jane (Jim) Kultgen of Port Washington. She is further survived by 8 grandchildren: Tammy (Jim) Thomas, Wendy (Paul) Greif, Kris (Scott) Weiss, Cheryl (Mark) Radtke, Eric (Melissa) Kultgen, Alan (Kelsey) Kultgen, Kevin Wilde and Kate (significant other Ryan Williams) Wilde, 6 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, childhood friend Jeanette Jelovnik, other family and friends. Eleanore is preceded in death by her husband Edward, two sisters: Caroline Wilde and Esther Penkewitz, five brothers: William, Albert, Arnold, Erwin and Adolph Witte. Private family services will be held at Friedens Evangelical Church in Port Washington. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Union Cemetery, Port Washington.
