Elaine H. Kowalczyk 77 of Cedarburg passed away on July 10th 2014. Elaine was born on June 10th 1937 in Milwaukee to Andrew and Helen (nee Lemanczyk) Haizel. She married James her high school sweetheart on Oct 5th 1957 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Jim and Elaine settled in Milwaukee prior to moving to Cedarburg in 1973. Elaine was involved in the community for many years as a voting polls worker a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church and a league bowler at Circle B. Elaine enjoyed spending time outside tending to her yard shopping and hosting family parties. She also enjoyed her get away trips with the ladies to Florida and an occasional trip to the casino. Elaine will be remembered for her generosity and caring ways and will be dearly missed by many. Elaine is lovingly survived by her 3 sons: Thomas of Cedarburg John (Lisa) of Jackson and James (Lana) of Mukwonago 5 cherished grandchildren: Keith (Trista) Kowalczyk of Grafton Jennifer Koenig of Fredonia Joseph and Jacob Kowalczyk of Jackson and Ben Kowalczyk of Mukwonago 4 adored great-grandchildren: Bethany Dylan Hunter and Max. She is further survived by nieces nephews relatives and dear life-long friends. Elaine was preceded in death in 1997 by her husband Jim her parents Andrew and Helen Haizel sister Lorraine ( the late Vince) Castiglione and brothers Clarence (the late Lorraine) Raymond ( the late Phyllis) Haizel. A Mass of Christian Burial for Elaine will be at 6PM on Wednesday July 16th at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church North 1375 Covered Bridge Road in Cedarburg with the Rev. Justin Lopina presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 4PM until the time of Mass. Elaine will be laid to rest beside her husband at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery the following day. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the doctors at Grafton Aurora Hospital and Cancer Center the 1st floor med-surgical unit the ICU nurses as well as the staff at the Lawlis Family Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion for Elaine.
