EDWIN L. BARES Mr. Eddie Bares of Wayside Lane in the Town of Belgium passed away at his home surrounded by his family Sunday evening January 11 2009.nbsp; He was 94 years old.nbsp; Eddie was born on April 25 1914 in the Town of Belgium one of eleven children born to Engelbert and Mary Thomas Bares.nbsp; Eddie entered the United States Army and fought during World War II in the Pacific and European Theatres.nbsp; On April 12 1947 he was united in marriage with Ms. Betty Emley at St. Patrickrsquo;s Catholic Church in Adell.nbsp; The couple settled in the Town of Belgium and began their family eventually being blessed with ten children. She preceded him in death on September 6 2003. Eddie entered into partnership with his two brothers Lester and Wally owning and operating Wayside Dairy for many years.nbsp; He was one of the founders of the Belgium Community Center.nbsp; Mr. Bares was a lifetime member of Holy Rosary Parish Holy Cross Chapel as well as a member of the VFW Post 5373 and the Belgium American Legion Post 412.nbsp; Eddie was an avid sports fan enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and in his later years maintaining the cemetery grounds at Holy Cross.nbsp; Eddie is survived by his children: Hedy (Peter) Poull Ruth (Rick) Kultgen both of Port Washington Annie (Ron) Stadler of the Town of Fredonia Patricia of Brown Deer Larry (Audrey) Steven (Carol) both of Belgium Charles (Mary) of Elkhart Lake Edwin C. (Manejeh) of Belgiumnbsp; and Anthony (Jill) Bares of the Town of Fredonia 30 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.nbsp; He is further survived by 2 brothers: Sylvester Bares of Port Washington and Lester (Janet) Bares of Merrill sister Elissa Bauer of the Town of Fredonia sister-in-law Violet Bares of Port Washington numerous nieces amp; nephews other relatives and many dear friends.nbsp; He is preceded in death by his wife Betty their son Paul brothers Alois Louis George Clarence and Walter and sisters Marie Jacoby and Leona Buechler.
