Edward J. Paulus Mr. Edward Paulus of Michael Street in Belgium passed away at his residence late Wednesday morning March 23 2005. He was 72 years old. Ed was born on October 14 1932 in Fond du Lac son of Edward N. and Helen Heimann Paulus. Mr. Paulus served in the United States Navy from 1955 until 1957 based out of San Diego CA. On June 18th 1955 he was united in marriage with Elvira Klein at St. Rose Catholic Church in Fredonia. The couple farmed in the Town of Belgium until 1987. Ed also drove a rural Belgium mail route from 1985 -1995. After he retired he drove truck for the Kettle- Lakes Co-op part time. Mr. Paulus was a member of Holy Cross Parish serving on the parish council building committee for the new church and held offices in the Holy Name Society and the Catholic Knights. He was a member of the Belgium Lions Club where he had held the positions of president secretary zone chairman and director. He served on the Plan Commission for the Town of Belgium for many years had been the secretary of the Fredonia Cooperative Exchange treasurer of Milwaukee Milk Producers Co-op had been active in the Dairy Council of Wisconsin National Milk Producers Federation Central Milk Producers Co-op Lakeshore Federated Dairy Co-op and the Farm Bureau. He loved to bowl golf and play sheepshead belonging to many leagues throughout his lifetime. His favorite hobby however was helping his three sons. He is survived by his wife Elvira a daughter Kathy (Marty) Bechtel of South St. Paul MN 3 sons: Mike (Lori) Paulus of Fredonia Tom (Bobbie) Paulus of Fredonia and John (Cindy) Paulus of Belgium. He is further survived by 11 grandchildren: Andy Becky Tiffy Carla Mitch Joe Valerie Melanie Ashlie Courtnie and Brittanie 1 sister Joan Hughes of Fredonia nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents 1 sister Marilyn Paulus Klein and 1 nephew James Klein. Funeral Services will be held Monday March 28 7PM from the Eernisse Funeral Home 171 N. Royal Ave. Belgium going to Holy Rosary Parish Holy Cross Chapel for Mass of Christian Burial at 7:30 PM. Fr. Richard Fleischman Fr. James Vojtik and Fr. James Ernster will officiate. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home Monday from 4-7PM.
