Obituary

Edward G. Kotecki Mr. Edward Kotecki of Port Washington formerly of Cedarburg and Montello passed away Monday evening September 21 2009 at Harbor Cove in Port Washington. He was 80 years old. Edward was born February 10 1929 in Milwaukee the son of Edmund and Madeline Ausprung Kotecki. He graduated from Riverside High School in 1947. On August 16 1952 he was united in marriage with Patricia Dore at St. Gall Church in Milwaukee. Edward went on to earn his Bachelors in Education from UW Madison in 1956 and his Masters in Education from Northern Michigan in 1969. Mr. Kotecki was a Physical Education teacher at various schools in Milwaukee and Ozaukee County until his retirement in the late 1980rsquo;s from Cedarburg High School. While working at the schools he was very active as a coach for football baseball and track. After his retirement Ed and Pat enjoyed 17 years at Buffalo Lake in Montello. He was an avid Packer and Badger fan and one of his highlights was attending the Rose Bowl in California with Pat. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. nbsp;Edward is survived by his wife Pat of Port Washington their four children: Thomas (Laurie) Kotecki of Muskego Patrick (Cindy) Kotecki of Port Washington Robert (Julie) Kotecki of Whitefish Bay and Kathy (Jerome) LeMahieu of Port Washington and nine grandchildren: Shawn Kelsey Carson (Katelin) Andrea Rebekah Abby Maggie Max Jenna and one baby boy on the way. He is further survived by one brother Clarence (Ina) Kotecki of Oshkosh one sister Carol (Jerry) McLellan of FL two brothers-in-law James (Isabel) Dore of Palmyra WI and Mark (Peggy) Dore of New Berlin two sisters-in-law Mary (Dennis) Dittman of Grafton and Kitty Spaulding of HI nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. nbsp;A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 7PM on Thursday evening September 24 2009 at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church 1800 N. Wisconsin St. in Port Washington. Father Pat Wendt will officiate. Burial will be in St. Maryrsquo;s Cemetery Port Washington. The family will receive visitors on Thursday evening from 4-7PM at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to the family to be used for the benefit of Harbor Cove. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Harbor Cove and Vitas Hospice for their compassionate care and support. The Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
