Edward Czarnecki, of Whitefish Bay, passed away in the evening hours of Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Port Washington where he had been a resident for a short time. He was 98 years old. Eddie was born in Milwaukee on October 10, 1918, son of John Czarnecki and Veronica Nadalski Czarnecki. After attending high school in Milwaukee Eddie joined the United States Army serving honorably in WWII. He was a telephone lineman with the 439th Signal Construction Battalion, and served in the European and African Middle Eastern Theaters. After being discharged from the Army, he married Mary Jaremba at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Eddie worked for over 36 years as a laborer for Pabst Brewery.
Eddie was a member of Holy Family Catholic Parish in Whitefish Bay and also Local 9 of the Brewery Workers Union. He enjoyed being outdoors, and could often be found walking or biking around the neighborhood. Eddie also enjoyed socializing with friends and family, and doing "fixer-upper" projects.
Mr. Czarnecki is survived by his wife of 70 years Mary of Whitefish Bay, two grandsons Craig (Carol) Czarnecki of Port Washington and Scott (Alison) Czarnecki of Green Bay, 8 great-grandchildren other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Dennis, and his siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 11tth at 10 AM at Holy Family Catholic Parish, 4825 N. Wildwood Ave., Whitefish Bay. Father Dennis Dirkx will preside over Mass. Eddie will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee. Visitation will take place at the CHURCH on Saturday, March 11th from 9-10 AM.
