EDWARD A. CARLSON God called Edward Carlson home to Heaven early Saturday morning August 13 2011surrounded by family and friends at Horizon Hospice Center/ Columbia St. Mary's Hospital Ozaukee in Mequon. Ed was born in Daggett MI son of Ida Carlson. He grew up in the UP and moved to Wisconsin in 1965. With honor and pride he served his country during World War II in the US Army Air Force. He was united in marriage with Nancy Legvold on July 30 1966 at Faith Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. The couple settled in town and raised their son Todd. Ed worked as a machine operator for Pioneer Container retiring in 1991 after more than 25 years of service. He was a member of the VFW in Daggett MI and the American Legion Post 288 Cedarburg. Ed loved fishing with his buddy Jack especially for brookies in the spring. He enjoyed bowling and spending time up north at the family home in Crivitz. He was an amazing fixer of broken things and recently had taken up birdhouse-making. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Nancy and their son Todd both of Cedarburg. He is further survived by his brother-in-law Jon (Linda) Legvold of Jonesboro AR nieces nephews and an extended family of friends. He is preceded in death by three sisters and a brother. Funeral services will be held at 4PM on Saturday August 20th at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1167 Washington Ave. in Cedarburg. Military Honors will follow. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Saturday from 2-4PM. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Horizon Hospice for their wonderful care.
