EDWARD C. ADAMS Ret. Lt. Col USAF Edward Adams age 85 years of 327 E. James Dr. Port Washington died Tuesday March 18 2008 at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Mequon. He was born January 7 1923 in North Fond du Lac son of Earl E. and Leanilda Possley Adams. He graduated in 1941 from North Fond du Lac High School. He served in the United States Air Corps during WW II as a meteorologist in the China Burma India theatre. After returning from the war he graduated from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. On April 27 1946 he married Marjorie Manthei in North Fond du Lac He taught in the Niagara WI school system prior to coming to Port Washington in 1952. He taught in the Port Washington school district until 1957 when he went to work for AC Delco for ten years working in research and development of the Apollo moon project. In 1968 he began a 17 year career as business manager for the Port Washington Saukville School District retiring in 1985. Ed was a member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church a former member of the Port Washington Kiwanis Club Port Washington Harbor Commission Port Washington-Saukville School Board Ozaukee County Commission on Aging and was a member of the Port Washington Rotary Club the American Legion Knights of Columbus Milwaukee and Manitowoc Civil War Round Table and Ozaukee County Retired Educators. He is survived by his wife Marjorie five daughters Alice (Robert) Lippe of Cedarburg Margaret Adams of Port Washington Nancy (Paul Clausing) Adams of Durham NC Janet (Michael) Trzecinski of Port Washington and Carol (Jeffrey) Fritsche of Silverton OR eight grandchildren Jill Marshall Monica Larkin Rebecca Kuss Emily Schultz Joseph Clausing Michelle Trzecinski Kristin Fritsche and Jessica Fritsche four great grandchildren and two brothers James Adams of Mayville WI and David Adams of Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday eve. March 25 7 PM at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church 1800 N. Wisconsin St. Port Washington with Father Pat Wendt officiating. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum. Visitation at the CHURCH Tuesday from 3-7 PM.
