Obituary

Edmund George Saler, a beloved father, veteran, and hardworking member of the community, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, at Harbor Campus in Port Washington, WI. Born on October 20, 1935, in Niagara, WI, Edmund lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love.

Edmund proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force, stationed at an airbase in England with Strategic Air Command during the Korean War. As an aircraft mechanic, he helped keep strategic bombers continuously airborne as a deterrent to the Soviet Union.

After retiring from Briggs, he continued to serve his community by volunteering with the Cedarburg Emergency Government and working part-time as a crossing guard. He had a passion for family time while boating, fishing, and camping. He also loved learning and documenting his family history, which led him abroad on multiple trips with his sister to Luxemburg, France, and Nova Scotia.

Throughout his life, Edmund remained a steadfast figure in his family and community, known for his kind spirit, smile, and contagious laugh. He had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and found great joy in caring for and spending time with them.
