Duncan "Don" LaPlant, of Fredonia, was born to Eternal Life on Monday, April 30,2018. He was 83 years old. Don was born in New York on September 25, 1934, son of George LaPlant and Julia Wright LaPlant. On December 5, 1964, he married Marian Mueller at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brookfield. Don was the proud owner of D & M LaPlant Contractors until retirement. He was a passionate volunteer in the Fredonia Lions Club, holding many offices. He was an active church member for many years at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Milwaukee; St. John's Lutheran Church, Fredonia; and St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, West Bend. He loved to spend time outdoors. Don enjoyed feeding wild birds, taking care of his pets, gardening, working on his yard, camping, vacations, and playing cards and games with his family and friends. He was a loving supportive husband of over 53 years to Marian Mueller LaPlant. The most cherished father of his children, Anna (Tom) LaPlant Fouser, Diane LaPlant, Don (Sharon) LaPlant Jr., deceased; Danielle (Kip) LaPlant Reinheardt, Maurice (Rachel) LaPlant, sister Julia LaPlant Green, and brother David (Kay) LaPlant Blessed with many wonderful grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended families, amazing relatives, and incredible friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Horn LaPlant; his parents; his in-laws Elmer and Louise Mueller; his son Don; brother Glenn "Sonny" Jackson; Sisters Irene Gardner and Edna Bailey; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave, Cedarburg, on Friday, May 11th, starting at 4:30 PM, with the funeral service at 6 PM. Rev. Robert Korytkowski will preside. Don will be laid to rest at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield on Saturday, May 12th, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Fredonia Lion's Club or St. Andrew's Church, West Bend.
