Mrs. Dorothy Ardisana of Cedar Grove passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family during the early hours of Friday morning, January 19, 2024. She was 94 years old.
Dorothy was born in the Town of Holland on April 18, 1929, daughter of Otto and Margaret Jacoby Krier. She attended local schools and graduated from Random Lake High School.
On May 21, 1949, Dorothy was united in marriage with Joseph Ardisana at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. The couple settled in the Town of Belgium and were blessed with six children. Joe preceded Dorothy in death in 1990. Dorothy later moved to Cedar Grove.
Dorothy had been a very active 4-H leader for many years, as well as a clown at local functions and parades, a volunteer for local hospice organizations and the American Cancer Society, and a member of the Christian Women at St. Mary Catholic Church – Lake Church. She enjoyed traveling, but above all else put her family first. She was a fixture at her daughter's restaurant, Mary's Country Grove, where all the staff and patrons called her Grandma.
She is survived by her children Diane (the late Roger) Schimberg of Cedar Grove, Rodney (the late Patricia) Ardisana of Sheboygan Falls, Roger (Louann) Ardisana, also of Sheboygan Falls, Barbara (Donald) Kollath of Kiel, Lynn (Dale Rider) Ardisana of Kewaskum, and Mary (Jason) Martin of Cedar Grove. She is further survived by 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, brother Donald (Alice) Krier of Oostburg, sisters Adeline Schmitz of Port Washington, Audrey Mueller of Random Lake, Elaine Nulph of Port Washington and Sylvia (Richard) Ansay of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, numerous nieces and nephews, other family and friends. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Joseph, sisters Angela Schmitz, Lucille Gasper and Eileen Gasper, and brothers -in-law Harvey Schmitz, Earl Mueller, Dennis Nulph, Arthur Schmitz, Leo Gasper and Lester Gasper.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Thursday, January 25th at Divine Savior- Holy Cross Chapel, 5330 County Hwy B, Belgium. Father Don Thimm will preside. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave., in Belgium on Wednesday, January 24th from 4-7PM and again at the church on Thursday, January 25th, from 10AM until Mass begins at 11AM. Dorothy will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. Nicholas Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials, if desired, are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
Dorothy's asks that her family carry her legacy forward with this final directive: be kind, and teach your children to be kind. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
