Doris A. Smith of Oostburg passed away on February 14, 2018. She was 93 years old. Doris was born on February 20, 1924 in Fillmore, WI to John and Ruth (nee Vetter-Albinger) Mueller. She was united in marriage to Jerome Smith on February 5, 1946 in Harlingen, Texas. Doris and her husband Jerome enjoyed spending winters in Brownsville (Texas), camping with family and enjoyed a large garden when they lived in Port Washington. Doris was known for her exceptional cheese torte and phenomenal German cooking. Above all, family was most important to Doris and she cherished the time spent with them. Mom will be dearly missed. Doris is survived by her three sons; Craig (Peggy) Smith, Brian (Diana) Smith, Pat (Tammy) Smith grandchildren; Trevor (Lyndsay), Logan, Brittany, Dillan and Jessica brothers; Fred Mueller of Port Washington, Tom (Dina) Mueller of San Francisco sister Caroline (Edwin) Klaport of Seattle sisters-in-law; Carol Mueller of Fredonia and Helen Mueller of Cedarburg. Doris is preceded in death by her husband Jerome, brothers; Reggie (Frieda), Nick (Mae), John (Billie) Eugene (Sharon), Robert Mueller and sister-in-law Dorothy Mueller. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. John XXIII - St. Mary's Church. Father Guy Gurath will officiate. Doris's family will receive visitors from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. Doris will be laid to rest next to her husband Jerome at St. Mary's Cemetery immediately following the service. Doris's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Cedar Grove Gardens and to her primary physician Dr. Scot Wilfong for the care and compassion they provided Doris.
