DONALD J. STEPHAN Sr. Mr. Don Stephan Sr. of Riverside Drive in Saukville passed away at Cedar Springs Rehabilitation Center in Cedarburg on Thursday morning November 18 2004. He was 80 years old. Don was born in the Town of Sherman on July 24 1924 son of Edmond and Erma Manderle Stephan. Mr. Stephan entered the US Navy on December 14 1943 serving overseas during World War II. On August 29 1945 he was united in marriage with Constance Miske in West Bend. Don worked as a Supervisor in the Trim Shop at American Motors Corporation in Milwaukee for thirty years retiring in 1978. He was a very active member of the American Legion Post 470 and handled all of the event bookings for the Legion Hall for fifteen years. He loved fishing hunting and eating the game and fish that he brought back home. He was well known for his pickling and smoking of fish and frequently helped others with their catch as well. He also liked polka music gardening and just being outdoors. He made Christmas wreaths for many years starting in the mid sixties and was preparing for yet another season of creating them. He is survived by his wife Connie of Saukville 2 daughters: Donna (Bill) Ubbink and Diane (Larry) Block both of Random Lake 2 sons: Donald (Barb) Stephan Jr. of Saukville and Darryl Buck Stephan of Port Washington 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by 1 son-in-law David Faust of Florida 1 sister Doris (Bepo) Passini of Fond du Lac 1 sister-in-law Joan Stephan of Port Washington nieces nephews other relatives and many many friends. He is preceded in death by 1 daughter Darlene Schmit-Faust 1 grandson Donald J. Stephan III and 2 brothers: Roy and Alois Stephan. Funeral Services will be held Monday evening November 22 at 6:30 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. Port Washington. Reverend Earl Kruse will officiate. Military Rites will follow. Burial will take place in Union Cemetery Saukville at a later date.
