DONALD E. KIES
Donny Kies, of Christine's Way in Random Lake, passed away at Lawlis Family Hospice on Tuesday, November 17, 2015. He was 78 years old. Donald was born in Sheboygan on May 13, 1937, son of Elmer and Christine Knepprath Kies. He grew up in Random Lake, graduating from Random Lake High School in 1955 and then proudly serving his country in the US Navy. On January 14, 1967 he was united in marriage with Linda Bichler at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Dacada. The couple settled in Random Lake and raised their family. Mr. Kies farmed and also drove semi for many local companies including Krier's Preserving and Advance Cast Stone. He officially retired from Lakeside Foods in 2002. Mr. Kies was a former member of the Random Lake American Legion Post. He enjoyed going to farm auctions, raising livestock, socializing, and having coffee with his friends. He truly loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their events.
Don is survived by his wife Linda, and their three children: John Kies of Ripon, Brenda (Karl) Meyer of Scottsdale, AZ and Ron (Jodi) Kies of Port Washington. He is further survived by 5 grandchildren: Aiden, Shayne, Emma, Tyler and Owen, 5 sisters: Mary (the late Ronald) Lutzke of Sheboygan, Judy (Henry) Kultgen of Fredonia, Audrey (Karl) Ader of Grafton, Pat (Darrell) Davis, also of Fredonia, and Vicki (Butch) Zimmermann of Random Lake, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and infant twin brothers Harold & Gerald.
Funeral Services will be held at 1PM on Saturday, November 21st, at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 Royal Ave., in Belgium. Father Todd Budde will preside. Donny will be placed at St. Mary's Cemetery in Random Lake with Military Honors following the service. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Saturday from 11AM-1PM. Memorials to Stars & Stripes Honors Flight are suggested in lieu of flowers.
