Mr. Donald Ernster of Holy Cross formerly of Cedarburg passed away Tuesday morning March 31 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 80 years old. Donald was born July 9 1934 in Milwaukee the son of Edward and Eleanor (nee Placereane) Ernster. After high school Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army. For over 40 years he owned National Glass in Cedarburg. On November 9 1991 he was united in marriage with Judy (nee Klauk) in Mequon. Donald was a member of American Legion Peter Wollner Post #288 and one of the founding members of Rods-N-Relics Car Club in Cedarburg. He enjoyed golfing building model airplanes and cars and fishing but his true passion was rebuilding antique cars. Donald is survived by his wife Judy of Holy Cross and his three children: Janie Ernster of Oostburg Rita (the late Donald) Collins of Grafton and Michael (Cheri) Ernster of Fredonia. He is further survived by 5 grandchildren: Andrew Christina and Kevin Collins and Benjamin and Rebecca Ernster 2 brothers 5 sisters nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents 1 brother and 1 sister. Funeral Services will be held at 4PM on Monday April 6 at Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. Port Washington. Father Jim Ernster will officiate. Donald will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery in Lake Church. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4PM. The Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
