IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dolores Lucille
Von Bank
December 14, 1927 – October 21, 2023
Dolores Lucille Von Bank (nee Zinda) of Cedarburg, was Born to Eternal Life on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the age of 95. Caring wife of the late Joseph, and preceded in death by her siblings, Edward Zinda, Marion Owen, Mildred Mueller and Lawrence Schmidt. Loving Mom of Kevin (Therese) Von Bank and Ann Marie (Tony) Schiel. Proud grandmother to Patrick (Maggie), Michael (Lacey) and John Schiel; Andrew (Samantha) Von Bank, Katherine (Daniel) Ricci and the late Joey Von Bank. Also, great grandmother to Michael, Lincoln, Camden, Raelle, Wesley, and Emmaline.
She grew up in the Riverwest neighborhood of Milwaukee, and met her future husband, Joe, at an Eagles Ballroom dance after he returned to his Army base following WWII. They married and lived in the same neighborhood where they raised their family.
Dolores loved her family. She devoted much time to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was their biggest fan, and tried to attend most events they participated in. To her last days, the children brought her great joy.
She worked various jobs, mostly in an office setting in the insurance business and for the Port of Milwaukee. Even after "retiring" at 61, she continued to work part time until she was 78. Dolores and Joe enjoyed their retirement when they moved to Newburg, and had a huge garden, including a raspberry patch, and the sweetest sweet corn which they shared with everyone.
Dolores volunteered for various events at the churches she belonged to, including St. Mary Czestochowa in Milwaukee, Holy Trinity in Newburg, and St. Mary Mother of God in Menomonee Falls. She joined St. Joseph Parish in Grafton, after she moved to Lasata Senior Living in Cedarburg. She enjoyed playing cards, dominos, bingo, and an occasional trip to a casino. She also liked having an Old Fashioned or Manhattan at get togethers. She was a fan of the Bucks, Brewers and Packers.
