Obituary

DOLORES T. MARTENS DORIE Mrs. Dorie Martens of Main Street in Belgium passed away unexpectedly at her residence Thursday afternoon November 29 2012. She was 69 years old. Dolores was born in Milwaukee on December 28 1942 daughter of Stanley V. and Violet Warpechowski Litwicki. She attended local schools graduating from Greenfield High School with the Class of 1961. On June 29 1963 she was united in marriage with William R. Martens at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hales Corners. The couple settled in West Allis and raised their family. Dorie was very active with Special Olympics coaching Volleyball for many years and was also a Crossing Guard with West Allis Police Department for 15 years. Bill and Dorie moved to Belgium in 1990. Mrs. Martens worked briefly at Holiday Trim in Belgium and also volunteered with the Ozaukee Humane Society. In her younger years she enjoyed gardening and bowling. Dorie loved to spend time at the family property in New Auburn often fishing and camping with her husband. Beyond a doubt she loved taking care of her husband family and dogs. Mrs. Martens is survived by her husband Bill of Belgium their three children: Jody Martens of Port Washington Jill (Ryan) Verhunce of Saukville and William S. (Serena) Martens of Belgium and five grandchildren: Jeremy and Valerie Verhunce of Saukville Billy Bailey and Kaylee Martens of Belgium. She is further survived by her mother Violet Litwicki of Milwaukee twin brother Donald (Marilyn) Litwicki of New Berlin brothers Kenneth (Karen) Litwicki of Big Bend Joseph (Loucille) Litwicki of Milwaukee and Stanley (Kathy) Litwicki of Waukesha sister Joanne (Wayne) Hegedus of West Allis and sisters-in-law Cheryl (Gerald) Stefanski of Chetek and Marlys (George) Haack of New Auburn. She is also survived by nieces nephews other relatives and friends. Dorie is preceded in death by her father and an infant sister. Funeral services will be held at 7PM on Monday December 3rd at the Eernisse Funeral Home 171 N. Royal Ave. in Belgium. Father Jim Ernster will preside. Mrs. Martens will be laid to rest the following day in St. Mary Parish Cemetery Lake Church. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home on Monday from 4-7PM.
