DOLORES L. SCHANEN Mrs. Dolores Schanen of Lake Shore Road in the Town of Grafton passed away Thursday morning September 15 2005 at Columbia-St. Mary's Ozaukee Campus in Mequon. She was 72 years old. Dolores was born in the Town of Grafton on the family farm on July 1 1933 daughter of William and Ann Sporer Wegner. She was united in marriage with Francis Schanen at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grafton on February 5 1955. Mrs. Schanen enjoyed fishing and boating she loved to travel and supported her husbands love of flying. Her true passion lied with the quarterhorses that she raised and showed. She ran the stables at their family ranch and worked very hard over the years with her beloved horses even raising a few world champion show-horses. She also spent much time with her kids and her grandson. She is survived by her husband Francis 1 son Robert (Holly) Schanen of West Bend 1 daughter Shawn Schanen (Dan Fox) of Port Washington and 1 grandson Josey Schanen of West Bend. She is further survived by 3 sisters: Alice (the late Ray) Straus of Port Washington Annie Wegner of Grafton and Mary Jane (Fred) Witte of Grafton 1 brother Roy (Doris) Wegner of Grafton nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister Marjorie (the late Roland) Karrels. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday September 19th at 7PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church Port Washington. Father Allan Sommer will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the church Monday from 6-7PM.
