Dolores M. Kowalski, 91, of Belgium, died April 2, 2018 at Cedar Grove Gardens where she had been a resident for the past 7 years.
Dolores was born on November 8, 1926 in the Town of Belgium, WI, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Johann) Ansay. She graduated from St. Mary Parish School in 1940, then went to work in Milwaukee. She married Henry Kowalski on June 1, 1946 at St. Mary Parish in Lake Church. She and Henry operated Sunnylane Farm in the town of Belgium, raising ten children there. They sold the farm in 1989 and built a house on Sauk Trail Road, where they lived until moving to Cedar Grove Gardens in 2011.
She is survived by her children: Sr. Rose (Carol) CSA, of Waspam, Nicaragua, Jeanne of Washington, DC, Laura (Mark) Nevins of Plymouth, WI, Kathy (Bob) Poull of Grafton, WI, Alice (Dan) Brill of Cedar Grove, WI, Bruce (Kathy Fronek) of Thurmont, MD, Walter of Tuscon, AZ, Karl (Jodi) of Waxahachie, TX, and Rose of Pueblo, CO. She is further survived by 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, three sisters: Mary (Dick) Neerhof and Lettie Croatt, both of Port Washington, WI, and Pearl (Bob) Houston of Tomahawk, WI, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry, son Jeffrey, brothers Harvey and Donald Ansay, sister Marcella Wittkopp, sister-in-law Joan Lempke, four brothers-in-law: Frank Lempke, James Croatt, John and Joe Kowalski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 6th at 11 AM at Divine Savior Parish – Holy Cross Chapel, 5330 Highway B, Belgium. Father Dennis Van Beek will preside over the Mass.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband in St. Mary Parish Cemetery in Lake Church.
Visitation will take place at the CHURCH on Friday, April 6th from 9 AM until the time of Mass.
