DIXIE A. OLSON Mrs. Dixie Olson of Parkway Drive in Port Washington passed away at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton Tuesday evening February 8 2011.nbsp; She was 73 years old.nbsp; Dixie was born in Ellsworth WI on October 11 1937 daughter of Eddie and Ruby Fox Prine.nbsp; After graduating from Ellsworth High School with the Class of 1955 Dixie went on to attend River Falls College graduating in 1961.nbsp; She was united in marriage with Gerald Olson on August 2 1958 at the English Lutheran Church in Ellsworth.nbsp; The couple had three children and moved to Port Washington in 1972.nbsp; Dixie had a love and talent for music that she shared with others.nbsp; At the age of 13 she became the organist for her home congregation at English Lutheran Church Ellsworth.nbsp; After moving to Port Washington she was the organist at First Congregational Church and then at Friedens Evangelical Church where she played for many years retiring just a few years ago.nbsp; Dixie taught piano lessons for over 30 years and as the wife of the local high school band teacher accompanied many students on their Solo Ensemble pieces.nbsp; At one point she ran a candle-making business Pioneer Candles out of the basement of their home.nbsp; Dixie was an avid reader and an ldquo;armchair detectiverdquo; often figuring out the villain in a mystery movie long before anyone else in the room.nbsp; She took great pride in raising her family and instilling a love of music in many children.nbsp; Dixie is survived by her husband Jerry their three children: Jonathan (Patricia) Olson of Green Bay Christopher Olson of Minneapolis MN and Kathleen (Andrew) Kinney of Santa Clarita CA.nbsp; She is further survived by seven grandchildren: Derek Taryn Kendra Brady Daniel William and Nicholas her sister Virginia Hagen of Minneapolis MN nieces nephews other relatives and friends.nbsp; She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Danny Prine.nbsp; Funeral Services will be held at 6PM on Sunday February 13 at Friedens Evangelical Church 454 N. Milwaukee Street in Port Washington.nbsp; Pastor Brandon Lemons will officiate the service.nbsp; She will be laid to rest the next day at Union Cemetery in Port Washington.nbsp; The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Sunday from 4-6PM. br /Service:br /p6:00 PM at Friedens Evangelical Church 454 N.
