Diane Schlueter, of Cedarburg, formerly of Port Washington, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away in the afternoon hour of Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Cedarburg Health Services. She was 90 years old.
Diane was born in Port Washington on March 18, 1935, the daughter of George and Irene (nee Lorge) Nelson. She grew up in Port Washington and attended local schools, where her spirited personality and warmth captured the hearts of many.
On June 28, 1952, Diane married the love of her life, Donald Schlueter, in a beautiful ceremony at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington. Their union became a foundation of love and support, embodying a partnership filled with love and compassion.
Diane dedicated over 30 years of her life working as an assembler at Leeson Electric in Grafton, where her diligent work ethic and friendly demeanor made her a beloved colleague.
In her personal life, Diane found joy in the simple pleasures. She was a passionate gardener and an exceptional cook, often filling her home with the aroma of delicious meals. Her family and friends will fondly remember her delightful gatherings around the dinner table, where love and laughter were always present.
Diane is survived by her four children: Terry (Roland) Walter, Thomas (Carrie) Schlueter, Tami (Brian) Bares, and Tracy (Michael) Shafer. She is further survived by eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren (with another on the way), nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents George and Irene, her husband Donald, her brother Patrick Nelson, and her special friend Roland Barsch.
Funeral Services for Diane will be celebrated on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 1 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington. Deb Hamm, Lay Minister, will preside over the service.
Friends and family are welcome at a visitation for Diane on September 5th at the Funeral Home from 12 Noon until the time of services.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Mary's Parish Cemetery in Port Washington.
