Desma I. Kraus Desma Kraus of Harbor Campus in Port Washington formerly of Saukville went to her Heavenly Home in the early morning hours of Thursday November 24 2011 age the age of 94. Desma was born in Saukville on August 28 1917 daughter of Joseph VandeBoom and Catherine Weiss VandeBoom. On February 22 1938 she married the love of her life Henry Santa Kraus at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville. He preceded her in death in 2008. Desma worked as an Inspector for Mercury Marine for over 30 years and also worked along with her husband on the family hobby farm in the Town of Saukville. She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church in Saukville and the Christian Women. She enjoyed bowling gardening casino trips and won the Bell Ringer Award from the Tri-County Pork Producers. Desma was known for her cooking and baking including her famous blitz torte peanut brittle torte Waldorf red velvet cake and Granny's homemade donuts. Desma is survived by her three children Ken (Margo) Kraus of Saukville Bonnie (the late Al) Knaub and Nancy (Donald) Theisen both of Port Washington. She is further survived by fourteen grandchildren: Cindi Dean Ellene Foster Gary Tammy Tori Tricia Brett Kurt Scott Mark Michele and Luke; twenty great-grandchildren her brother Roy (Lois) VandeBoom of Wausau 2 sisters-in-law Marie Kraus of West Bend and Lauretta Kraus of MN nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband 1 brother Leo VandeBoom and two sisters Edna Gall and Ione Schwenker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday November 28th at 6:30 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 145 W. Church Street in Saukville with Father Tom Lijewski and Father Karl Acker concelebrating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in St. Mary's Cemetery in Saukville. Visitation will be held on Monday November 28th from 3:30-6:30 PM at the CHURCH. In lieu of flowers memorials to the charity of donors' choice suggested.
